HOW
DO WE CHANGE THE WORLD?
ONE
RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS AT A TIME
Morgan Freeman
Who is Savannah Stoneman? A famous actress? A politician
perhaps? No! Savannah is a student at Coastal Carolina University in the USA now
doing her student teaching internship. Savannah works twice each week at the
Outback Steakhouse in Conway to help herself as “money is very tight.”
Savannah’s father was deployed in Iraq sometime ago and
she has a tattoo of his handwriting done on her wrist.
As she was serving a young couple last Saturday night they
noticed the tattoo. It made a connection with them as they had just visited a
tattoo shop nearby. But it did not end there. The couple were moved to leave a
generous tip for Savannah.
How much?
$500.
Nice, eh?
The story was carried on ABC15 News March 22, 2021.
“Many customers don’t acknowledge servers
as people and don’t take their feelings into consideration. That couple is by
far the most amazing people I have met in my time serving,” Savannah
said.

In Hutchinson, Kansas, USA there is a woman who has some
health issues. I don’t know her name. She had started mowing her lawn but did
not feel well enough to finish the job.
Over the weekend of March 20,2021, Officer Wells. one of
the Hutchinson police, passed by and noticed the condition of the lawn.
He could have passed by and gone his way, but - yes! here
we go again!... He got hold of the lawn mower and mowed the lawn -without being
asked.
A random act of kindness? Yes, indeed.
As a result of that act, KWCH Staff said, the
police department wrote: “Our Chief has issued a challenge to every officer.
What positive impact did you make in your community today?”

On Friday, March 26, 2021 a man bought $4,000 worth of
gift cards from The Dunkin’ in Beavercreek, Ohio, USA.
Really? Why did he do that? All for himself? For his
friends?
No, not for himself, or for his friends. He wanted to
help other people after this difficult year, the store manager Samantha
Owens said.
“He really just wanted to explain how rough the year was
and how he could do any way he could to pay it forward and this was his best
way to pay it forward,” Owens explained to WHIOTV7 Dayton on Wednesday,
March 31, 2021.
“Are you positive? Are you sure you want to do this?”
Samantha said she asked the man several times after he made the request.
Food, breakfast, sandwiches, coffee, - it was all free.
More than 300 people benefitted from his generosity.
Yet another act of kindness and generosity in this
difficult time.
The Greek storyteller Aesop is credited with the saying: “No act of kindness, no matter how small - is ever wasted.
